These clips are a joy aren't they! They are curved to provide a
positive pull on the cylinder to keep it from wobbling back and forth,
but bent standard clips do work. There is now a tool available from VB
that makes installing the stock clip a snap though, about $20. I bought
one after my last brake job and don't regret it!
