After asking the list about the use of duct tape on wire wheels to protect
the inner tube against chaffing I received many replies. Thanks to all for
these!
The opinions were all the same. Do NOT use duct tape!.. Apparently it
becomes messy and absorbs water causing rust on the inside of the wheel
rim. I am thus suggesting to all and sundry that the correct item ''Rim
Band'' should be used - or they can be made from old/new inner tubes
cutting them radially.
