But you're wrong.

Aside from the folks who tweak the pressure up to 80 or 100 psi for MG
racing engines, the stock MG B-series engine oil pump will turn out a flow
of 56 quarts per minute at 7000 rpm crankshaft speed.  Some folks on this
list already know which school of hard knocks allowed me to learn that
lesson the hard way.  Granted, it only takes about 4 gallons per minute to
lube the engine, and the excess will just generate lot of heat while
getting dumped past the relief valve back to the sump.
