I sent this out last week because I thought I would get a part ID almost
immediately.
And just about NO responses...except one.
C'mon, there has to be someone out there that has seen one of these:

OK,
so I did that to use the vast width and depth of the list's communal
knowledge.
(no, not carnal knowledge.....perverts)
anyway, back to the subject at hand.
I have this rear end (Will you PLEASE get your minds out of the
gutter!!)
Ok, seriously,
I have this rear axle (stop snickering), and it looks a bit strange, as
you will agree.

Ok, maybe the subject line should have read: "Please help me identify my

strange looking rear end"

Nuff said,
I think it may be competition in nature, due to all of the lightening of

the drum brake backing plates.
It has alfin brake drums, and the welds all over the rear axle housing
and tubes all look like they are custom done....not like the ones on the

regular rear ends where you can tell that someone does it all day every
day, and the welds are perfectly done, and duplicated on the next one.
The welds on this rear look like they are done as a one-off.
The only markings are on the axle diff carrier, 377 over 6 I believe.
Please help, and maybe I can stump the list on this one.
Here are the pics:

Ed, how about taking a crack at this one?
Yes, that is a challenge.....with a smile
cheers
Kevin
