I know we have had this question several times before but I would like the
lists input before I do anything stupid. The petrol tank on our 1965B is the
original, it has a very small hole in it where someone has hammered a nail
through it (???!!!) and I need to repair it.

The tank has been open and empty for 11 years, I cannot see any sign of
residue in it but I don't want to weld/solder it without asking about it
first.

What is the prefered method, weld or solder? (I've used solder in the past
after flushing for several hours)

Do I need to flush or clean it beforehand or should it be safe considering the
time it has been open?

TIA
