I wouldn't bother painting them since it's just going to rub off anyway.
They shouldn't rust -- heck, they should be lubricated! YMMV...

As for British Car Week, I saw an Aston Martin in the bank parking lot
yesterday. Don't know if he was supporting the cause or just making a
withdrawal <g>.
