In the Ferrari side of addiction, low mileage cars are avoided by
all but the uninformed -- unless they are to be museum pieces.
"Archiving" these cars was common practice in the me-me-me '80s
when exotic car prices shot through the roof. Investors bought
them for ridiculous figures then put them into storage. Today,
they are worth much less than expected and most likely less than
the investor paid for them. Also, a Ferrari that has sat for years
unused will almost certainly need an engine/gearbox rebuild to
replace all the seals and gaskets. (Read: US$10,000+) Not a
good thing.
