Wow, what a lot of great responses to my original post! Some of the
specific cars mentioned -

Riley 1.5
MG Magnette
BMW 320i, 2002, E30 M3
Various Jaguars
Olds 4-4-2
Audi Quattro (80s version)
Triumph Stag, 2500S
Ferrari Mondial 2+2
Saab 900
and of course, the MGB and GT

What a cool list! Some others I would add (admittedly, not all of these
fit the 'classic' definition of 25 years old)

- Early 80s Volvo Turbo sedan - I had one, silver with a navy interior,
4-speed with electric O/D - what great seats and what a tank! Handled
great, though...

- BMW 530i - mid-90s - okay, not even close to being a classic but I've
loved this car since I sat in one at the Boston Car Show in 1994. Small
V8, 5-speed, sweet! But still expensive.

- Alfa Romeo 164 - another great-looking car.

My latest thought might be to keep my Jetta and funnel the monies
towards the '65B restoration...!
