Hood (bonnet) Alignment MGB

Hi All,

I am in need of advice concerning the hood (bonnet) alignment on my 79 B.  
It's way close to the passenger fender, so it needs to move towards the 
drivers side.  Additionally, it's a shade close to the rubber bumper up 
front.  Is it just a "move it around a bit until it fits" job, or are shims 
or washers required to do the job properly?
