Question for the experts. Just rebuilt my Zenith carb. Definitely needed
cleaning and needed diaphragm.
When putting it back on, the manual choke just doesn't seem right. I bought
it this way.
If you leave the choke cable loose, the spring inside the choke housing
turns the choke axle (?) all the way to the right (clock wise). The way the
manual choke is hooked up when it is pushed in (off), it is pushing the
choke axle , to the left counter clock wise.
1st it doesn't seem right to be using a cable to push something off against
a spring.
Then there is a lot more travel in the rotating of the choke axle than you
can push out with the choke cable. Is this correct or should the cable come
underneath and pull the choke on?

This is a picture I took prior to taking everything apart. This is all the
rotation you can get with the cable pushing. However there is probably
twice to 3 times that much rotation to the left (counter clock wise) against
the internal spring.
