The reason the cylinder froze in the first place is a build up of moisture in
the brake fluid.  The fluid should be flushed at least every two years.

 Brake fluid absorbs moisture (even Castrol LMA) and it migrates to the lowest
part in the system.

BTW if you have covers for the bleeder screws-use them.  Bleeders often freeze
when moisture enters the bleeder hole.
