Further to Barneys note -
The studs thenselves should not be overtightened into the block, if the
threads on both the stud and the block are all clean and undamaged the studs
should go in finger tight to a point where the thread on the ends and just
starts to make contact with the top of the thread in the block. Do not
torque down.
It can be useful to counterbore the stud hole about 1mm to clear the top of
the thread in the block which may have pulled up a bit above the face of the
block. It is vital that you do this with something to control the depth that
you go into the block, it should not be tried 'freehand' as it is very easy
to bore too far and take the thread out entirely.
