ATF would generally be colored red. Sounds more like clean oil to me,
possibly with some additive (that makes it smell funny). Or maybe synthetic
oil -- what does it smell like? Presumably different than decayed
dinosaurs...

Your OD trans wants regular motor oil -- depending on your climate and who
you believe you might want 30wt or 20w50.
