My MG Magnette Mk. III has one body number on the little tag, and then a
second one (close but not right) stamped right next to it directly into the
body. BMH sent me a certificate that matched the body stamp, but not the
metal tag.
Pretty queer, but I guess it wasn't that important back then.... Got ten
tags, got ten cars... slap 'em on.
