A question raised on another group and repeated here in hopes of hitting a
materials engineer.

Motor and transmission mounts were, I believe, manufactured in a mold in
which the rubber was poured and in some manner bonded to the steel plates, or
around the mounting bolts, or what have you, on the various types of mounts.

Some are no longer available, and failing the location of something similar
that can be modified, the question arises as to whether modern glue
technology might be up to simply using adhesive to bond new blocks of rubber
or urethane compound to the old, original steel plates/bolts/bits.

Does anyone know if such glues exist and can you point me at them? You
wouldn't want them peeling off rom vibration or rocking motion of the power
train, so you'd want something with a good bit of 'sticktion'
