Try venting the engine compartment: 1" holes cut into the front 
wheel-wells (low-pressure area), or louvers cut into the bonnet just 
behind the radiator location (also low-pressure area), or both. 
Seems to help the V-8 conversions from what I've read on the MG 
Enthusiasts BBS.
