Hi Sandrine,

Welcome to the virus discussion and computer platform war list...! Oh,
sorry, I meant the MG list. :)

I wouldn't venture a guess as to the value of the car, but unless it was
something very rare (and it doesn't sound like it is), US$875 would be a
lot, and UK#875 would be waaay too much (what is that, about
USD$1400?). #200 to #300 sounds more like it, if not less, if it's in poor
condition. Maybe just #150 to #250.

Generally, I think that unless you WANT the experience of building a car
from scratch (and it sounds like you do), if you are merely looking to save
money, you do better buying a vehicle that is together and runs well. If
you want the experience of restoring, then some beater like you're
describing is probably as good a project car as any. But for #875 pounds
you should have something that actually runs. I think your #200 to #300 is
more likely.

Suggestion - don't "fall in love with it" and justify the #875. There's
lots more cars out there, and for that money you could get something that
runs under its own power (if not well).

The people here can help you more than you know, when they're not arguing
about viruses that keep them busy cleaning their machines and not their
cars. :)
