Unless you have the car or fridge in a darkroom, how are you going to unroll
and rewind without exposing it?  It's a lot easier to remove one of the
reverse lights...  :)

However, a really simple method has come from this idea...if you have a
digital camera with a countdown timer.  Set it so the flash is off, trigger
the countdown timer, then close it in the boot.  Wait for the camera to
shoot, then look at the picture it took.
