There is supposed to be a strap from the downpipe behind the cat to the trans
bell housing. This helps support the system and reduces the stress on the
cat, A lot of times the DPOs or muffler shops left it off.
Also, the gasket between the manifold and the cat should be a metal sandwich
type, not the paper gasket. A paper gasket will blow, and the small amount of
play that results can cause the vibration.
