I'm always having to search through 4 repair manuals to find torque
settings. Seems they're in each of them in a helter-skelter manner. Does
anyone have a list, or a website, where I'll find most torque settings for a
B? If not I'm going to work on organizing and typing one up tomorrow.

In another matter, while working on putting the manifold back on, I
discovered a trick to getting the nuts on the manifold/headpipe union that
saved me a lot of time. I'm sure many of you mechanic-type people know this
or have discovered it over the years, but the first time I tried to get my
big hands into that small space underneath the manifold to thread on nuts it
took me several hours and I even taught myself some new four letter words.
This time, I used one of those flexible pick-up tools with the dual gripping
claws on the end to hold the nut and turned it on by turning the shaft. With
this and a flexible shaft for the ratchet it worked like a charm-maybe 15
minutes total. I took Barney's suggestion and used stainless steel nuts and
double-nutted each one. He said that this will hold that union leak-free for
a long time; much longer than the brass nuts that come loose and can't be
torqued as much.
