Just returned from doing an errand, and about a mile from home, the '76 B
(stock engine and Z-S carb) began spewing out a LOT blue smoke from the
exhaust. It only happened under heavy acceleration - say, more than 1/2
throttle. Oil pressure was a little lower than normal, just under 50 on
the oil pressure gauge (normally, it's well above 50 for driving at 45 -
50 mph). Oil is topped up (just checked it this past Sunday). Level is
hard to tell now, it hasn't all settled back into the sump. I also noticed
at one stop that it was idling a bit lower than usual, maybe by 200 rpm.
Do I have a problem with the piston rings? How can I tell??

TIA...
