Engine dying

Hi, everyone. The subject sounds worse than it is; my engine all of a sudden
doesn't like low revs and dies when I come to a traffic light. When I restart,
it runs very rough for a while and doesn't want to rev. Eventually the revs
pick up and everything's fine. It sounds like an electric problem, but I'm not
sure. Any ideas??  TIA,
