Bad form to reply to one's own messages. Sorry.

Does anybody else like to take the back roads and scenic routes?

Sometimes I even purposely choose to drive through the very poorest,
most deprived areas of my prospective route. I'm whiter than Rainbo
Bread, but if I'm driving through the ghetto in The Cooper S or the
Victor TF, I get nothing but big grins and thumbs up and V for victory
signs. The (whatever ethnicity) poor folks in the shacks out on the dirt
roads this sort of adventuring can sometimes make essential are very
seldom bitterly envious of the collector car and its owner/driver; they
tend to be so inspired by the "coolness" of the car, they feel warm
toward the owner/driver for bringing it into their experience. At least,
that's how it seems to me; I'm pretty obviously old, but I dress oddly
and I have a beard and pony-tail, so nobody knows exactly what I am. ;)

Just wanted to mention this, since it has been a source of great
satisfaction for a long time.

Taking the back roads in the Dodge Shadow just ain't the same thing.
