The consenseus on the list in June was "no, never".

I had the same problem. I didn't buy a new one but tried making one from
a cookie sheet and heat shielf fabric from Summit Racing. It turned out
to be too small but did help the situation.

I didn't put a lot of effort in this though, since my intent was to put
a set of HIFs on the car, which I did in June.

Makes a world of difference.

I found when I took the old manifold off that I had this exact problem. Probably
contributing to the vapor lock problem. That's all gone now, the car is 
quieter, 
runs better, better gas milage, idles lower and more smoothly. It's much more
reliable, and I have much more confidence in it.
