As for the clutch I remembered seeing some in-car footage of Hannu Mikola (I
think) driving a rally car in the 70s. They used conventional controls and
gearboxes in those days, and you could see his feet dancing in the brake
(left foot) and accelerator but rarely the clutch even though he was going
up and down the gears. When asked at the end of the section why he didn't
use the clutch he replied "Iss not my gearbox".
