I've always had a soft spot for small sporty cars, having progressed
from '70s Honda Civic 1200 lumps to an '87 CRX Si, and from that to a
'92 Mazda MX-3 GS. But I just sold off the Mazda and picked up a new
Hyundai Tiburon V6-6-speed "Special Edition" in yellow.

The Missus likes her cars on the other end of the spectrum so she has a
Santa Fe. It's got good power from a 3.5L V6, but I don't care for it
much.

And we've got a blah Sonata four-door sedan for our long hauls to keep
the miles from accumulating on the cars we actually like and would like
to keep around for a while.

Yah that's right, three freekin Hyundais.

As for what I'd dream for, I've been dreaming about having a Lotus 7 or
reasonable knock-off for some years now, even to the point where I had
an empty coffee can on my desk (back when I had a real job) with a slot
in the top for change and dollar bills marked "LOTUS FUND". But that
got me in a little hot water with the former employer cause other
people in the office would contribute loose change to it thinking it
was some kind of nice charity, and eventually I had to fess up that it
was to accumulate money for me to get another car.

I just hope that as I get older I take after my dear old dad who's
going to be 70 this year but in the last few years has restored
Mustangs and a Riviera along with maintaining a fleet that includes a
Miata and a '72 MGB and a '62 Corvette. And this spring he's going to
finish a two-year project of building a Factory Five Cobra knock-off,
which he's put together pretty much single-handedly since I live 500
miles away and can't get up there nearly as much as I'd like to lend a
hand.

But I digress.
