Hello all,
OD has quit working on my '79 B. Main symptom was that after engaging it, it
went into OD OK but a few seconds later it dropped out on its own. Hasn't
worked since. Prior to this it worked flawlessly with the exception of my
replacing the OD switch about 5 months ago.
So far I've:
Checked the OD switch for continuity, numerous cycles - OK
Checked that I have 12V across the switch connections when in 4th gear,
ignition on - OK
Drained the 20-50 oil from the transmission case.
Cleaned the small relief and low pressure valve filter.
Replaced the sump filter (sump cover magnets were free of metal particles).
Refilled tranny with 20-50 oil.

I'm leaning toward the solenoid being bad but am looking to this list for it's
wisdom and any BTDT's. If it is the solenoid, I see Moss and Vicky Brit carry
just the coil. Is it acceptable to replace just that part?
Cheers,
Mike
