Good question.  I checked the ones that Moss has on the shelf.  They are
coming out of the UK, from a major supplier of vintage parts.  The cut
of the backing plates and bonding suggest good overall quality. 
There are no identification marks on the material, but to my eye it
appears to be a fairly abrasive semi-metallic consistency, somewhere
between the old Repco Deluxe and Metalmaster.

That's what Moss has.  I don't know what other options are out there, as
the MGA pad is a pretty rare bird.  I believe that you can have custom
pads made up, but I don't think it would be worth it unless you are
racing competitively and going through pads on a regular basis. 

If you wanted to get really creative, converting to the MGB calipers
would give you a much wider range of pads.
