When replacing the clips on one of my cars I simply added a stack of
small washers to the stem of the rivet to bring the "pressure point"
above the deep rivet. This worked fine - still had enough stem for the
rivet gun to grab.

On a related note, on my other car the visor brackets themselves (not
the clips but the part where the visor hinge attaches) are off the car
(broken off by a PO). These seem to be attached via some sort of rivets
but they seem to go into the part of the windshield frame where the side
overlaps the top. This area almost seems to be solid. Any suggestions
for how to mount these? The Moss pictures don't really help and the part
for the "rivet" doesn't have any stem (looks like it is meant to be
flattened on the other side with the frame apart).

Thanks,
