If you're referring to the one labeled "modified front including spoiler",
that looks pretty slick. Though it leaves you with the world's most
vulnerable turn signal lenses (better carry spares).

Does it have any energy-absorbing characteristics at all?

I think dark colors work best with the rubber bumpers -- a white car looks
like a slice of ice cream cake, black on both ends and white in the middle.
And if you body-colorize the bumpers in a light color, they will really show
every scratch.
