Yeah, if you can find one. I have an automated eBay search for chrome bumper
MGB body shells, and only one has come up in the last year. I don't think it
was a Mk. I either. My impression is that the supply of 62-67 MGBs is drying
up -- you occasionally find restored examples for sale, but "cheap drivers"
are non-existant, and viable projects are extremely rare. Now and then a
hideous rust pig is offered at a ridiculous price.
So I wouldn't be too quick to write off Peter's car. As I said, in many ways
it sounds like a better candidate than my still-driving example.

This one is supposedly low-miles original, but has been resprayed a
non-factory color (old man tan), and has a hideous "autumn leaf" interior
and beige carpet, and a goofy modern steering wheel. It is being sold from
Arizona, but I would want to confirm that it hadn't just been trailered in
from the rust belt. Still,at least it has a chance of being a decent
foundation for a restoration.
If this turned out to be a real Arizona car, and Peter nabbed it for
anything under $10K, he'd probably be dollars (and years) ahead insofar as
having an authentic 66 to drive, compared to his project, even including the
cost of new interior and paint. Now I'm not saying this car is worth that
much, I'm just making an economic comparison.
