If the lid is obviously twisted i.e. the alignment is correct at the hinge
edge but not at the catch edge then de-twisting seems the obvious answer.
If the hinge edge is raised by the left-hand hinge in relation to the right,
it seems a common problem, and afflicts those with telescopic (mechanical,
not after-market gas-filled) struts as well, possibly where some bozo has
just pushed down on the lid in an attempt to close it.  In my case I
unbolted that hinge from the body and shimmed it to lower that side.
