Clip a timing light onto the oil lead and each plug lead and watch the
flashes.  An irregularity in flashing coinciding with the misfire tells you
it is an HT problem.  If it is on the coil lead as well as the plug leads
then it is probably associated with the points or equivalent, and if points
the distributor ground strap is a first check.  If on the plug leads but not
the coil lead then it is probably either the cap or rotor breaking down.  If
on none of them, and it is the same with a new set of plugs, then it looks
like fuel/mixture.
