Installation is probably easiest if it comes with the header rail attached as
it only involves half-a-dozen screws. However they are quite a bit more
expensive, and you are dependant upon the jig being the same dimensions as
your car and frame to get the correct tension - too much and it could be
impossible to close, too little and it will look like Nora Batty's stockings
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nora_Batty).

Just as important is width-ways fit, and from what I have seen there is a
considerable variation from suppliers. A good fit will put the gutters just
above the drop-glasses and the internal flap lying flat against the glass to
give a good seal. A poor fit can have a gape above the glass big enough to
get your hand in without touching the sides, along with inclement weather. I
bought my roadster with a new but bottom of the range vinyl, and promised it a
plusher version when I restored it. But then I saw the poor fit of some of
these 'quality' hoods and so have stuck with the cheapo for that past 15
years. There are three different frames and three different tops, you have to
get the matching top for your frame.

  I need a new hood/top for my '71 MGB. This is a strictly a non-show daily
driver. (It really is a daily driver, long story.) Keeping the rain out and
ease of installation are my primary concerns. (I'm willing to spend extra for
the ease of installation.) Any recommendations?
