Robert:

Maybe I'm not the only one who didn't see your post. Don't forget that this
is a pretty hectic week for most folks what with prepping for family things
over the holiday, prepping for races this weekend, etc.

But, that being said, this group is usually VERY talkative about this or any
other subject.

Here's my short list of LOOK AT's:

For Rust -
lift carpets check floors
use rubberized magnet check for bondo particularly rockers & lower sections
of fenders
look into small openings at rear sides of engine compartment check for
rust-through & mouse nests
If owner will let you, remove panel at rear of front inner fenders (Six
7/16" bolts & a phillips screw) that will let you see a LOT.
Check top of triangulat box section at top rear of front inner fenders
check underneath rockers - look at solidity of "castle section" (See Moss
catalog)
Check trunk down between inner & outer fenders & rear corners
look at battery box(es)

Engine -
check oil & water for anything foreign - oil in the water or vice versa
all equipment for the year still on?
start easily?
take it for drive - after, check compression
while driving - good throttle response? Smoke?

There are books written about what to look for in a used car. Follow their
advice. But, the above will give some guidance on MGB's
