One could buy lengths of about 3 or 4 ft when I restored my roadster 16
years ago. Rear wings will be a major job if the whole length needs
replacing. Fortunately on mine it was only a few inches, so I peeled off
the top then used a fine hacksaw to cut through the join between the wing
and the boot lid surround panels, which cut away all the old beading and
through the spot welds. Then cut a length of new beading to fit, dropped it
in, and mig-welded from inside the boot. By the time it was painted you
couldn't see the join. Front is easier. Remove the wing, cut/grind off the
old beading from the wing. Cut and shape (or at least, just cut for a
roadster) the new beading to fit the wing, but don't attach it. At this
point I'd fully treat, repair and paint the panel at the base of the screen,
the wing and the new beading as three separate items. Then assemble with
clear flexible sealant. That way hopefully you will delay the reappearance
of rust for longer than if the painting were done with the new beading
already attached.
