Pump to *dis*engage, I presume you mean.  If by holding the pedal down you 
find the clutch starts to engage by itself, and there are no leaks, then the 
master piston seal is leaking back, pure and simple.  Rebuilding is not 
always the most cost-effective way to go.  Mind you, Hunt's Fifth Law states 
new parts can be faulty when you receive them, and probably won't last as 
long as the originals.
