Numero uno,   how are you supporting the king pin in the press.   If by chance
you are putting
a sizeable shaft thru the top trunnion, the kingpin will not push , pull or
move because it has
a cutout that forms arounnd the shaft or bolt that is in that hole.  If you
had a dissassembled king pin to look at this would be obvious, but if not,  
not obvious.
 
Ask me how I know that.  Second thought, don't.

I am wanting to disassemble, clean & probably rebuild some MGB kingpins to
install in a MGA.

I have loosened the large nut at the top of the kingpin but the kingpin is
resisting all efforts to part company with the upper trunion (using my
hydraulic press). Advice?
