Rick, I bought that same spring compressor from Amazon to work on my early 
MGB head, and it works just fine. It takes a little getting used to, but 
does the job well. Good luck with your valve work.

Valve spring compressor arrived today. B Its bigger than I expected but in 
retrospect, it needs to be that big. B See picture with pen included for 
scale.
