I know I should have something better to do at lunch time, but I walk around the
local "Pick-n-pull" salvage yard. This one is in San Jose, CA, on Monterrey
Road. I found a '55GMC pickup. Most of the body is pretty beat. No doors.
The engine is all there, fully assembled except the carb. It has recently been
worked on (I could see new exh. manifold gaskets). It is a staight 6 with the
transmission in tact! The radiator is flawless and the sheet metal that goes
arournd the radiator is in excellent shape. It was very difficult to tell what
kind it load capacity it was, but I noticed it had 8 bolt wheels.
If you need any of these parts, get 'em quick. They will probably be gone in a
few weeks (things don't stay there long).
No, I don't work at pick-n-pull and I won't earn any money or other compensation
