[oletrucks] battery cable sparks

I replaced both battery cables and when I touched the ground cable to the  
battery terminal it sparked like crazy.  The ground cable is the old woven  
wire 
type.
 
I checked for shorts, switches on, etc. but found nothing.  Tried  again and 
no sparks at all.
 
Is this normal or am I just paranoid and afraid to park the truck in my  
garage now??
