I had looked at a Craftsman lathe a few years back. The one I looked at had
square weys rather than the conventional dovetail ways. You most likely want
a lathe with dovetail ways because it will be much more accurate.

I have looked at several small lathes and have found a Craftsman 12" x 36"
with a three and four jaw chucks, quick change gear box and misc tooling
included. Price is about $1300.
Has anyone had any experience with the Craftsman lathes? How's the price?
Any alternative suggestions?
