Can you explain why you like the foot tranny control? I'll be in the
market for a new mower next season, and I've started to study my
options.

I own a shifter Scotts, from when they were made by Murray. (It's junk,
but it has 4 wheel steering so it obviates the need for a trimming
mower. If you can say a conventional riding mower has great handling,
this is it. Doesn't understeer at all, even with my lard-butt on the
back.) I have mowed a bit of grass with a John Deere Sabre with the hand
controlled hydrostatic tranny and I love it for the precise speed
control over varying grass densities. What makes the foot control
superior to the hand control?
