Hmmmmmm . . . I'd fear the adhesive abilities of the caulk might give
problems later . . .I haven't tried it for this application but I have seen
it used to solve other tire leakage problems:  plain old liquid  "rubber
cement" paper glue which one can buy at the office supply store.
