Carb cleaner is formulated to desolve gums and varnishes present in
gasoline, plus leave a film of lubricant on the metal parts. This is not
the kind of thing you want on brake drums, rotors and pads. Unless you
enjoy fixing wrecked cars and have a real death wish.
Brake cleaner, on the other hand, desolves oil and grease and evaporates
leaving a clean, dry surface. Just the thing to make your brake system more
effective.
