My cousin has a good sized farm equipment servicing shop.  When ever we
do heavy steel bending and fabrication we use torches to heat the metal
at the bend points.  With a little practice, you get pretty good at
this.  This works on single plane curves.

Compound curves, like those of a plow share, are almost impossible to
create well.  For things like that we usually build it up with welds and
grind to shape.
