I'm an experimentalist. I'd pull the dipstick, look at the level and
make a mental not of exactly where it is. Then I'd wipe it off and
check the oil again. If it's the same after five or six times doing
that I'd probably have convinced myself that it doesn't wick. I'd
still wipe it off every time I check the oil though, because I always
check my oil twice. You see, I'm a neurotic experimentalist.
