The professional electricians I know eschew the use of the quick wire
connections. The advantage of the pigtails is that if something goes wrong
with the outlet, you still have power down the line. If you use the outlet
for the connection and a problem develops, it would knock out everything
beyond the connection. The reason they don't like the quick connections is
that the screw connection to the outlet is more positive with less chance of
a loose connection that could cause arcing within the box that could lead to
a fire hazard.
