Doug,You have what is referred to as a split bus
panel. These no longer meet code for the reason you
stated, no main disconnect. The sum of your breakers
is within the 200 Amp main feed, as you will probably
never have every thing on at once. Load is calculated
as a percentage of everything on. Meter will have no
