Well, I did say "sniff", not "take a deep breath with the nozzle stuck in
your mouth"...

I believe argon is odorless and tasteless.  it is inert, like helium. CO2 is
quite different, as you can tell from sniffing (or burping) gas from
carbonated beverages.
